2024 NW SEM Collaborative Fall Workshop: Event Recap

Back to News

Thanks for joining us in the Emerald City at the NW SEM Collaborative Fall Workshop! By bringing together 80 of the region's leading SEM experts under one roof, this event provided an invaluable opportunity to share successes, tackle challenges, and pave a path for the future of SEM in the Northwest and beyond.

And an extra thanks to this year’s Fall Workshop sponsors: Energy 350, AESC, Gazebo, SBW Consulting, and all of NEEA’s SEM funders.

Workshop Highlights and Resources:

  • The night before the workshop, Collaborative members attended the Seattle Underground Tour, followed by a happy hour hosted by Coefficient Consulting.
  • NW SEM Collaborative Working Groups (GHG + SEM, SEM in Schools, and Beyond the E) shared their annual updates.
  • The Smart Buildings Center presented their Tool Lending Library, including a hands-on display of common diagnostic tools.
  • Leadership team members Anna Kelly (SWB Consulting) and Kathleen Belkhayat (Energy Trust of Oregon) shared updates on the NW SEM Collaborative transition to the North American SEM Collaborative.
  • Attendees participated in breakout groups to brainstorm ideas for the future of the NW Chapter. If you would like to volunteer to help bring these brainstorm ideas to life, contact the NW Chapter.
  • Back by popular demand, Open Space sessions broke attendees up into small groups to explore SEM advancement opportunities. Discussions included SEM's role in building performance standards, developing energy coaches to meet future demand, and leveraging technology to increase the scale and reach of SEM.
  • The day concluded with a happy hour sponsored by Energy 350.
