CEE Strategic Energy Management Minimum Elements

The CEE Strategic Energy Management Minimum Elements provide a set of threshold criteria for energy management practices. By establishing a simple, clear description of what it means for a site to be practicing SEM, these minimum elements provide a basis for consistent communication about SEM with end users, which will improve market awareness and acceptance of SEM and help bring it to scale.

The CEE Strategic Energy Management (SEM) Minimum Elements have been used by CEE members to develop and frame SEM programs. With the shifting focus toward decarbonization, both by end users and members, CEE created addendums to each of the SEM Minimum Elements that could be used by SEM program administrators and their implementation providers to integrate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions into SEM program designs.
