A central focus of the webinar will be the skills that make an effective SEM coach: what those skills are, how organizations can identify people who have them, and how we can better develop and support professionals already serving in SEM coaching roles. We’ll also hear directly from a Midwest customer about their experience participating in SEM and what effective coaching looks like from the customer perspective.
SEM Collaborative's Executive Director, Krystal Marx, will provide a national update on the Collaborative’s work, including progress from the SEM Coach Certification Committee, key themes and strategic-planning feedback emerging from the 2026 SEM Summit, and highlights from SEMC’s recent webinar, Applications for AI in SEM: Agents, Coaches, and Process Documentation. The discussion will also look ahead to SEMC’s ongoing education efforts and opportunities to build stronger professional-development pathways for the SEM community.
We’ll close with questions, discussion about what the Midwest Chapter should tackle next, and plans for an in-person Midwest Chapter gathering at MES.
Whether you are an SEM coach, implementer, program administrator, customer, evaluator, or simply interested in strengthening the SEM workforce, this webinar offers an opportunity to learn, connect, and help shape what comes next.
You do not need to be an SEM Collaborative member to attend.
We invite utility and program professionals, implementers, consultants, researchers, technology providers, energy managers, and anyone interested in SEM coaching to attend.
